In the autumn plan on being here for the most spectatular colors as the leaves change and usher in winter time.

Local wineries have tours and tastings, and every season there are festivals from the Apple festivals in the autumn, BBQ & Bluegrass in the summer. Spring brings Celebrate Clayton with arts, crafts and music and the Kite Flying competition at Nacoochee Rabun Gap School. Winter is a wonderland and there are frequent community bon fires in the area.

At Idle Time Cabin you are minutes away from the famous Foxfire Center as well. For those who love gems and stones you are only 15 minutes from Franklin, NC the Gem Capital of the South where you can mine your own or buy from local outlets.
